========== CINEMAGRAPH EFFECT PHOTOSHOP ACTION (with optional color correction) ==========
- If you have a CS6 Extended then install ‘Cinemagraph for CS6 Extended’
- If you have another version of Photoshop, then install ‘Cinemagraph for non-Extended’
A Cinemagraph is a living moment in an otherwise still photograph. It exists in the world in between a photograph and video to bring to life the image and make it last forever. It is usually several seconds long, and looping. My examples here are only 1 second long, yet you can already see the artistic effect achieved. The best length is around 5 seconds. Longer videos will be very heavy, so try to keep it short.
My PS Action works by Isolating a Subject. It targets specific areas that you want to keep in motion, while other parts are frozen and will remain still.
Cinemagraphs are still photographs in which a minor and repeated movement occurs. They are published in either animated GIF format or as video, and can give the illusion that the viewer is watching a video. Many believe that Cinemagraphy is the future of photography. Facebook already let’s you post Cinemagraphs on the timeline, so you should jump on the train if you haven’t done so already. This action is a great way to start, since it’s easy to use and it doesn’t require additional software.
These aren’t your ordinary GIFs. The cinemagraph is a medium pioneered (and named) by husband and wife team Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg in which individual instants of motion are isolated against a static image. This dichotomy creates moments that are quiet and contemplative, elevating the humble GIF into something much more refined. Cinemagraph Pro for Mac is $299. NOW my action is 4,49 € and you’ll get results faster.

Photoshop actions are one of the handiest time-saving tools you can have in your utility belt. Really they're like magic, allowing you to transform your photos and designs with a single click. For those of you that have never ventured into the wonderful world of Photoshop actions, this guide is for you.
What are Photoshop actions?
Photoshop actions come in the .ATN file format and put simply, actions are a series of steps that have been recorded by their creator. This sequence of steps can then be reapplied at any time, which allows you to recreate the end result without having to go through each individual step every time. Think of them as short cuts.
Why are Photoshop actions useful?
Actions are great because they not only save time, but they significantly speed up your workflow. When you install a professional action in Photoshop, you are essentially getting the expertise of the person that created the action right on your computer. You can bypass hours of frustration and instead have fun playing around with different looks at the click of a button. For the novice, the ease of use and instant gratification of actions can be an important step in learning to embrace Photoshop. And if you're interested in learning more, you can always dig into the individual layers of the actions to see how the original creator did certain things.
Please note that all Photoshop actions work differently with each photo (based on the colors, tones, lighting, etc., of the original photo). This is very important when you consider buying one of these actions.
